The new Calva Louise track “La Corriente” directly translates to “The Current” and serves as a much-needed reminder to let go of others’ opinions and find your happiness. The song comes only days after Calva Louise’s performance at the Download Festival in the UK, which was the icing on top of the cake that was their recent tour with Vukovi.

Calva Louise is a metal band in their prime, and “La Corriente” is a perfect example of why. The song is immediately gripping, getting the blood pumping with fast-paced synths and a short-lived intro that is pounced upon by heart-pounding percussion and guitar. Within seconds, you know what you’re in for. This track is a wake-up call to those who find themselves preoccupied by the attitudes and opinions of others. Guitarist and vocalist Jess Allanic pleads to be left alone, she says, “‘La Corriente’ is about escaping prefabricated opinions and judgments, affecting our perception of self.
