In what could seem like an unlikely collaboration to some, pop icon Britney Spears and skate company Welcome Skateboards recently dropped a brand new merch and skate deck line.
Before their partnership with Spears, Welcome Skateboards launched a collab with My Chemical Romance. Since then, they’ve worked with Nine Inch Nails and Avenged Sevenfold, among others. Where those skate decks were decorated with sharp designs and moody undertones, their collaboration with Spears is not as dark but still features a bit of edge.
In the days before the final release, Welcome posted several previews on Instagram to excite fans. When it finally dropped, the skate company said, “music is the backbone of our culture and it permeates everything we do creatively. At first glance, the worlds of Welcome and pop music might seem miles apart. However, Welcome and Britney Spears are coming together in a unique collaboration that highlights an unexpected but deeply rooted connection.”

“This collection is more than an ode to our favorite pop star,” they continue. “It’s a celebration of a generational icon who has influenced music, fashion, and pop culture as a whole for decades, and the enduring resilience required to achieve that. It is a testament to the way different subcultures that may seem at odds can coexist and enrich one another.”
Staying true to their mission of “blending dark with light,” the skate decks feature some of Spears’ most iconic photos with pops of pastel and neon covering the boards. Alongside the decks are a series of items from sweaters to water bottles, all featuring memorable lines from her most popular songs, such as “Till The World Ends” and “…Baby One More Time.”
