As they get ready to drop their upcoming deluxe LP, The Best Part About Being Human, Bearings share their latest single and music video with “Make Your Way Back To Me.”
Serving as a reflection on the feelings someone might experience when in a long-distance relationship, vocalist Dougie Cousins softly laments about the weight of not being able to see his significant other. “So I’ll tell the boys I don’t got no choice cause I fell for an American/And I hate flying but I’m still trying to cross that sea.”
After posting a clip the music video on Instagram, guitarist Ryan Culligan commented, “One of my faves we’ve done, thank you all for listening!” Fans also expressed their happiness and satisfaction with the new track.
The song begins with Cousins alone, singing and playing the guitar. As it goes on, the rest of the group joins in for a colorful chorus of harmonies and riffs beside heartfelt lyrics. “And I don’t know where you Are/And I don’t know where I’ll be/But I got something to learn/I guess that/Maybe we’ll see.” Featuring what sounds like a flute solo in the break, the band steers away from their usual punk style and creates an easy-going yet passionate tribute to love.
