Bad Omens has officially unleashed their latest masterpiece, the explosive collaborative single “V.A.N,” featuring Sumerian Records labelmate Poppy. The metalcore outfit first began teasing this collaboration this past weekend, Sunday, January 21, after the group scrubbed their Instagram channel clean. Following this bold move, they shared a cryptic snippet of Poppy cradling a white rabbit. This gripping visual immediately exuded an Alice In Wonderland-esque scenario of following the white rabbit.
“V.A.N,” exemplified in the track through Poppy’s breathy whispers of the chant-worthy hook ” Violence Against Nature,” acts as a preview of Bad Omens‘ upcoming album, the CONCRETE FOREVER project, also recognized as the CONCRETE JUNGLE OST. The track unfolds through an array of expertly crafted production and thundering instrumentation courtesy of the band, while Poppy assumes the persona of the Concrete Jungle Universe AI character across the video. Across the song, Poppy’s ethereal vocals grow more and more ferocious before cultivating in a crashing crescendo.

“That’s a song that started just with the hook ‘Violence against nature,’ and then after saving the project with the acronym and seeing it, we realized it could be fun to think of ‘VAN’ as a name,” Bad Omens vocalist Noah Sebastian explains. “Thus the rabbit hole of ideas began that led us to decide to write lyrics from the perspective of an artificial intelligence gone rogue.”
Bad Omens wrapped their tour run this past week with Bring Me The Horizon. Next week, they will hit the road again for the Concrete Forever Europe tour alongside Poppy, which begins on January 27 in Berlin. While international fans will get a taste of “V.A.N” while both artists are on the road together, special livesteams for their back-to-back Cologne, Germany shows will be available exclusively through Veeps.
