Kyle Edward Ball’s microbudget directorial debut, Skinamarink, shocked the box office with a more stylish aesthetic picture than any other in its genre. Two children wake up in the middle of the night to find their father is missing, and all the windows and doors in their home have vanished. Stream it on Hulu.
Green Room
Jeremy Saulnier’s Green Room tactfully elevates the teenagers to survive a night-from-hell troupe with this horrific thriller. The plot pits a young punk rock band against a gang of white power skinheads who’ve trapped them in a secluded venue after witnessing a murder. Streaming via Cinemax.
Titane
Julia Ducournau’s Titane won the Palme d’Or in 2021 with a colorful, jaw-dropping body horror, making her the second woman to receive the top prize at Cannes. In it, a series of unexplained crimes unexpectedly reunite a grieving firefighter with his son, who’s been missing for ten years. Stream it on Hulu.

Remi Weekes’ feature directorial debut, His House, is an immigrant experience through the terrifying lens of two Sudanese asylum-seekers. When Evil Lurks
Chilling in premise alone, Demián Rugna’s When Evil Lurks is an intense and sickening bit of cinema in which demonic possession is rendered as a literal pandemic ravaging the countryside. Baskin
This Turkish horror film, directed by Can Evrenol, starts as an unsuspecting buddy cop flick. During the pandemic, director Rob Savage felt compelled to prank his friends to pass the time.
