Pretty Girls Make Graves End 17 Year Hiatus
After their emotional farewell in their hometown of Seattle, WA, on June 9, 2007, Pretty Girls Make Graves are making their long-awaited return to perform The New Romance in its entirety—over 20 years after its release. Although their performance at When We Were Young won’t be their first reunion since 2007 (the band played back-to-back shows in Seattle in September 2024), fans will have the chance to relive the magic of the group’s 2003 masterpiece.
MILLIONAIRES Performing Their New Single “This Weekend”
The Melissa Marie Green-fronted MILLIONAIRES, who spawned the iconic Myspace-era bow trend in the mid-2000s, are set to make their highly anticipated When We Were Young debut this year. Alongside Meredith Hurley, the duo is expected to perform their 2010 Cash Only EP, including the mega-hit “Take Your Shirt Off.” With their new single “The Weekend” dropping on October 18, just one day before the festival kicks off, it’s safe to say fans can look forward to a high-energy live debut of the new track.
We Are The In Crowd First Stateside Performance Since 2015
After frontwoman Tay Jardine announced We Are The In Crowd‘s hiatus in February 2016, the band’s long-awaited return finally came in 2021 at Slam Dunk Festival in the UK. However, they haven’t performed in the U.S. in nearly a decade, with their last Stateside show on April 25, 2015, and their most recent North American tour taking place in 2014. That same year, the band released their sophomore and final album, Weird Kids, in February 2014. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the record, We Are The In Crowd will play it in its entirety at When We Were Young 2024.
Pierce The Veil Performance Collaborations
Pierce The Veil is the only band set to play all three years of When We Were Young, and we’re certainly not complaining about that. At the debut WWWY, Sleeping With Sirens’ frontman Kellin Quinn joined PTV on stage, briefcase and all, to perform the explosive collaborative track “King For A Day.” With SWS scheduled to perform again this year, celebrating the 10 year anniversary of Let’s Cheers To This, we’re hoping Quinn will join Vic Fuentes and co. on stage again to recreate the magic of this track. PTV will also likely invite a female vocalist to perform “Hold On Till May,” which originally features Lindsey Stamey. With Hey Monday’s Cassadee Pope and Tonight Alive’s Jenna McDougall both performing with their respective groups during the weekend, they would be our top contenders to fill that role.
Cobra Starship First Full Band Performance In 10 Years
It’s a bit surprising that Cobra Starship will be performing their sophomore album ¡Viva la Cobra! considering their third album Hot Mess launched them into superstardom. Despite this, we’re extremely confident that the group will perform “Good Girls Go Bad” with a special female vocalist to mark the group’s first full band performance in 10 years.
My Chemical Romance Performing The Black Parade
Get ready to get G-noted! My Chemical Romance performing a second time at When We Were Young Fest is by far the moment EVERYONE is most excited for. Especially since the group will be resurrecting their monumental album, The Black Parade, in full for the first time in 17 years. During their WWWY debut in 2022, the group wore prosthetics and makeup on stage to look like elders (like elder emos, get it?). This time around, we’re extremely hopeful they’ll take the stage in their full black marching band uniforms from The Black Parade era.
