Sometimes we like to think things have changed; that the age of the internet and new legislation has helped spread social awareness and there’s been a huge jump towards equality, and puppies rule the world which is full of rainbows and unicorns and everyone’s happy. Wait—wrong universe. Okay, don’t get us wrong, some things have changed…but a lot…well, hasn’t.
So that’s why Geek Girl Riot’s Sherin Nicole is launching a new project called “Why, Oh Why is this Still Relevant?” Each new clip will feature subjects that should no longer be an issue, and yet somehow still need to be addressed today. Up first: why are females still not taken seriously as legit comic book fans?
