This week on In Frequency, Eleanor Grace is joined by Jess Abbott of Tancred to talk about her new record Out Of The Garden, released last month on Polyvinyl Records. Although the record is Tancred’s third full-length release, it marks the beginning of a new chapter for Abbott – who also plays guitar in Now, Now – and chronicles her fully coming into her own as both a musician and a person. She reflects on the album’s themes of restriction and control, her growth as an artist, the various dichotomies of a record that pairs “sickly sweet” pop sensibilities with dark lyrics, and much more.
