This week I have long time friend Josh Katz- frontman of Badflower. So far he is my only repeating guest on this show, I caught him when he was in LA and we share some stories and catch up, we already learned about Josh’s life before on previous episodes, but anytime we get together, we always have a blast, here’s the conversation.
This week we continue the last episode, talking about all sorts of things. Josh is one of my favorite people ever and that’s why this is a two parter episode!!
This week I have Josh Katz from the amazing band Badflower! We’ve become really close friends over the years.
I discovered these guys in 2014 one night browsing on the internet on Absolutepunk.net that had zero comments on the post, it peaked my interest and I felt like I had discovered gold! Tune in to PART 1 as we talk about his career and everything else in between!
Who went to Austin, Texas and interviewed over a hundred people in 48 hours? Josh Madden for Nylon Guys, of course! Check out the video…
I met Luke last year right before the pandemic hit and we were all starting to hang out a lot, we even had Josh Katz from Badflower, Luke and me jam at a blues night in a random bar in Los Angeles. I get to know Luke a little more and find out how he got his start in music.
Badflower is back with an all-new track that is a perfect fit for your emo Halloween playlists. The act has unleashed “Haunting You” via Big Machine Records. The song is preceded by their 2024 offerings “Detroit” and “Teacher Has A Gun.” Lead vocalist Josh Katz says of the track, “’Haunting You’ is really about being pushed out of someone’s life abruptly and completely. Like, when someone says, ‘you’re dead to me’ and moves on. It’s impossible to just forget about someone like that.” Read more: Metallica, Linkin Park, More To Headline Sonic Temple Festival 2025 Additionally, he notes, “Their presence… Read more »
Ahead of their massive summer and fall tour schedule kicking off in less than two weeks, Badflower has dropped their contemplative and nostalgia-inducing “Detroit.” Featuring flashbacks from old photoshoots, old shows, and life on the road, the track is anchored by the line “I wanna feel the way I did when we started/It’s so depressing having everything I wanted.” “I think anyone who has achieved something that they always thought they wanted has felt the disappointment in finally reaching that goal. It’s like, ‘I have it, now what do I do?,’” frontman Josh Katz contemplates. “And then you realize how… Read more »

Frontman Josh Katz expands upon the meaning of the song sharing, “Feeling like everyone’s out to get you and that everyone’s violent and that everybody has a gun, literally or figuratively, is a real feeling for a lot of people—especially in America. We spun that in a way that made sense for us… Read more »
