Superstar Missy Elliott is currently in the studio working on her new album, This Is Not A Test, which will be released on November 25, according to MTV.com. The first single from the set is “Pass The Dutch.” This Is Not A Test is slated to include guest appearances from Jay-Z, R. Kelly, Alicia Keys, and Busta Rhymes, and the production of Timbaland. After a three-year hiatus, groundbreaking hip-hop tour Smokin’ Grooves will return this summer armed with a lineup that includes Outkast, Lauryn Hill and the Roots. The outing, which will also feature West Coast rhyme slingers Jurassic 5, is scheduled to kick off July 18 near San Francisco and hit 15 major markets before wrapping up August 7 in Atlanta. The first rule when you’re about to drop $75 to $150 on a concert ticket should be “Do your research.” Anyone who expected a straightforward greatest-hits retrospective from Prince at Lincoln Center’s Avery Fisher Hall Tuesday night will have to write their pricey ticket off as a fine for laziness. A day after MTV’s 20th anniversary celebration, some people were nursing hangovers, but Busta Rhymes was feeling the kind of pain a cup of coffee wasn’t going to cure. Apparently old Bussa Bus injured his right leg during the show’s hip-hop medley. Robinson’s debut solo album, Dawn, will hit stores October 16, with the sassy, uptempo single “Envious” leading the way at radio in mid-September.
