Rob Zombie’s Great American Nightmare has announced its full Halloween 2013 lineup. Jello Biafra will headline the event with Agent Orange, Andrew WK, Mod Sun, and Beware of Darkness rounding out the lineup.
Fans growing impatient for the release of the Ramones tribute album We’re a Happy Family now have a good reason to turn that frown upside down. Metallica have yet to settle on a Ramones cover to lend to a forthcoming tribute LP to the pioneering punks; perhaps “I Can’t Make It on Time” would be an apt selection. Two years ago, Rob Zombie learned that music from his triple platinum 1998 album “Hellbilly Deluxe” had been used without his permission for a Mazda Truck TV commercial. Upon first hearing from fans about the commercial, Zombie believed that they were mistaken, but after viewing the TV spot himself, he realized it was true. Former second-stage headliner Rob Zombie will fill the main-stage slot vacated by the untitled Chris Cornell-Rage Against the Machine collaboration, which forfeited the slot after the ex-Soundgarden singer announced he was “no longer moving forward” with the project, according to tour organizers. Rob Zombie fans are about to experience what he was doing with his three weeks off the Merry Mayhem Tour, which launched on Halloween, while co-headliner Ozzy Osbourne recovered from a broken leg. During the down time, Zombie returned to Los Angeles and directed not one but two videos, his own “Never Gonna Stop (The Red, Red Kroovy)” and Ozzy’s “Dreamer,” each of which will be seen early in the new year. Ozzy Osbourne will make the video for “Dreamer,” the second single off Down To Earth, in the next few days. He’s tapped tourmate Rob Zombie to direct the clip. Zombie and Osbourne embarked on the Merry Mayhem tour on October 31, but dates had to be postponed due to a stress fracture in Ozzy’s leg.
