Now, as the second day of When We Were Young Fest is in full swing and unfolding in front of the sold-out crowd, Branch has brought a very special guest, former Hey Monday vocalist Cassadee Pope, on the Stripe Stage to help her with “Are You Happy Now?” The two incredible vocalists shared the spotlight and were in perfect harmony as they breezed… Read more »

When her new album, Hotel Paper, hits stores June 24, Michelle Branch wants you to remember what Aaliyah said almost a decade ago: Age ain’t nothing but a number. “I just want [people] to actually listen to the record and, I guess, give me a chance,” the 19-year-old singer said recently. “I don’t know, younger artists, people kind of write us off as being this novelty kind of thing, and people forget that George Harrison was 17 when he was in the Beatles, U2 was my age… the Rolling Stones, everyone. It doesn’t matter how old you are, it shouldn’t… Read more »

Michelle Branch’s Zilo-sponsored Lotus Tour finishes up Sunday (February 24) in Norfolk, Virginia, but Wednesday night (February 20) at New York City’s Irving Plaza she got a visit from the president of her label-who just happens to be Madonna. The Material Girl attended with a few of her girlfriends, and it was a very low-key, laid-back appearance, a source confirmed for LAUNCH. Madonna was entertained and impressed, staying at the venue for Branch’s whole set. Lucy Woodward and Transmatic opened the show. Branch has a one-off date Tuesday (February 26) in Atlanta, and then rests for about a week before… Read more »
Nurse Abby Lockheart has just been dumped. She is in the middle of the rather painful process of moving her stuff out of her ex-boyfriend’s apartment. And to make matters worse, Cake’s “Short Skirt/Long Jacket,” a song about the things a man is looking for in a woman, is playing on the radio. Jo Koy hosted the Golden Globes and his presence was, without a doubt, memorable. And, our very own Tommy Wooldridge worked on the short filmed version of ‘Night Swim’ back in 2014. The feature film is in theaters now so he reflects back on helping with the short a decade ago, which was filmed in Michelle Branch’s pool.
Michelle Branch covers are “Everywhere” in this week’s (Un)Covered.
