As Fall Out Boy‘s enchanting So Much For (Tour) Dust draws to a close this weekend on August 6, a special guest and old friend graced the stage last night at Forest Hills Stadium in Queens, NY. While the band flawlessly sailed through their initial 16 tracks, Gym Class Heroes‘ charismatic frontman, Travie McCoy, joined the ensemble for two cover performances. It has been 15 months Gym Class Heroes released The Quilt, an album that was supposed to carry them to the next level but, thanks to an increased focus on hip-hop, confounded most GCH fans, and quickly disappeared from the charts.
The Gym Class Heroes have experimented so much on their latest CD that even frontman Travis McCoy can’t quite describe the group’s newly formed sound. “It’s like our last two efforts combined in a sense, but pushed further.
