Billy Talent, The Maine, and Straightaway certainly brought the noise to Paris, France on the first day of the Bring The Noise Festival on November 18th. idobi photographer Gaelle Pitrel was there at Le Divan du Monde to capture the performances.
MuchMusic has announced their list of nominees, performers and celebrity guests for the 16th Annual MuchMusic Video Awards. The Awards take place June 19 in Toronto. The big event snagged The Killers, The Black Eyed Peas, K-OS, Billy Talent, Alexisonfire, Ciara and lip-synching wonder Ashlee Simpson to perform. The Backstreet Boys won’t actually sing at the show, but they will attend the MMVAs in the company of other celebrity guests Sum 41, Kalan Porter, Keshia Chante, Jully Black and Kelly Osbourne. The boys of Billy Talent are leaving the comfortable confines of the T.Dot to take their rock to the Canadian masses. The Mississaugin’s will hit the Trans-Canada Highway in a few weeks to take their travelling band of punks to eager college kids and high school teens lucky enough to score their big brother’s ID. The 2019 Emmys were a bit lackluster in design, without a host and accompanied by the weird theme of “The Masked Singer” the show was a little off. What was completely on were the awards given to the diverse talent we are finally starting to see in Hollywood. Billy Porter is the first openly gay black man to receive the award for Lead Actor in a Drama Series. The National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences’ MusiCares Foundation will bestow its annual Person of the Year award on Billy Joel next year. The singer-songwriter will be honored on February 25th at a dinner, concert and silent auction in Los Angeles. The event comes two days before the Grammy Awards, which will be broadcast on CBS.
