People R Ugly is transporting you back to high school in their new music video for “Wake Up.” In it, the group goes full Napoleon Dynamite, performing a dance number for a talent show that is fire…literally. Plus, the video features a cameo from none other than blink-182‘s Mark Hoppus, who serves as the talent show emcee.
Hoppus, in character, jokes, “When you get nervous, just imagine everyone out there completely naked, especially second row, Miss Stacy—home ec teacher. Ya know that song, ‘All The Small Things’? She’s got some big ones. Been there, done that, I know what I’m talking about!”
Check out the hilarious and high-production “Wake Up” music video below. P.S. Make sure to stay for the music video bloopers and behind-the-scenes clips after the video, it’s so worth it!
Excitingly, People R Ugly also announced that “Wake Up” is just one track from their upcoming debut album, GARAGE, due out on October 24.
The band notes, “We’re beyond excited to finally share GARAGE. This project is unlike anything we’ve ever made before. We had a blast experimenting, messing around, and pushing ourselves in new directions, and we couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. We hope it makes you laugh, cry, dance, mosh, and maybe even smile at a surprise feature you won’t see coming.”
The album is set to include previous singles such as “Better” and “Thinkin Bout You.” Pre-save the record here and catch the band at Vans Warped Tour Orlando this November.
