Nick Karcher Asks “ARE THE KIDS OKAY?” On New Protest Single

Nick Karcher Summer 2025

Nick Karcher has never shied away from saying what needs to be said. On his latest single, “ARE THE KIDS OKAY?,” he delivers a blistering statement dressed in new-age shock rock. Following the buzz of his earlier tracks “In Another Life” and “Not Another Song Called Perfect,” Karcher now takes aim at the political and social hypocrisy shaping a generation.

Produced by Michael Bono (Avril Lavigne, blink-182, MOD SUN), “ARE THE KIDS OKAY?” is as infectious as it is infuriated. With sharp hooks and whip-smart lines like “Doctor, I can’t seem to fall asleep/Cause my teacher says bullets help you dream,” Karcher critiques the culture of apathy surrounding school shootings, religious hypocrisy, and systemic cruelty in America.

Musically, the track rides the same anthemic edge popularized by TikTok-driven artists like TX2, Scene Queen, and NOAHFINNCE. It melds heavy pop-punk instrumentation with defiance and unapologetic political commentary. But Karcher doesn’t just scream into the void—he points the finger with purpose.

In the days leading up to the release, Karcher shared a barrage of politically charged posts calling out the hypocrisy of the current U.S. administration, the erosion of LGBTQIA+ rights, and the culture of distraction. The most chilling of all being “The call is coming from INSIDE the house,” pointing directly at the U.S. government.

In his latest post connected to Trump’s recent calculated move, he writes, “Trump is militarizing Washington, D.C. Crime is at a 30 year low. This is propaganda. This is authoritarian.”

“ARE THE KIDS OKAY?” is a rallying cry. It fearlessly taps into the rage, fear, and frustration of a generation raised on active shooter drills and false promises. Listen to “ARE THE KIDS OKAY?” below.
