Clad in their Black Parade marching band uniforms, My Chemical Romance welcomed fans back to The Black Parade yesterday, July 11, in Seattle, WA, for night one of the “Long Live” The Black Parade tour.
Violent Femmes kicked off the night with a rousing 13-song setlist, featuring fan favorites “Kiss Me” and “Gone Daddy Gone” before MCR took to the stage. Once My Chemical Romance hit the stage, they launched straight into a full-album performance of their 2006 landmark release The Black Parade. A subtle yet striking update to their signature Black Parade uniforms included red stripes accenting the pant legs alongside the classic white trim, along with a flash of red satin lining inside Gerard Way’s jacket—visible when he took it off mid-set.
After tearing through all 14 tracks in sequence, the band was dragged off stage, only to return—this time out of their uniforms and in street clothes—for a second act that featured fan favorites like “I’m Not Okay (I Promise)” and “Helena.”

The Long Live The Black Parade Tour will feature a variety of special guests that include 100 gecs, Wallows, Death Cab For Cutie, The Mars Volta, and more. My Chemical Romance is also set to headline the Shaky Knees event this year alongside Deftones and blink-182. Check out their tour dates below.
