Complaint Vs. Dion's Husband Probed

Police are investigating a Los Angeles woman’s claim that pop diva Celine Dion’s husband raped her two years ago. Las Vegas authorities say they began looking into the case after Yun Kyeong Sung Kwon filed a police report March 19, two years to the day after the alleged incident. The investigation will be hampered by the two-year delay, police said.

Angelil said the allegations “don’t stand up.”

A police spokesman would not say if Kwon provided physical evidence.

Kwon has also filed a civil suit against Angelil, claiming she met him at a casino and he followed her into an elevator, where he fondled her. He then followed her into her room, locked the door and forcibly raped her, she said.

Kwon’s suit also seeks to overturn an unspecified settlement from June 2000.

Angelil’s lawyers have called the suit ridiculous and the allegations false. They say Angelil settled the suit originally because Dion had just gotten pregnant and he was battling throat cancer.
