Asian-American Attacks Continue Following the hate crime committed in the Atlanta area yesterday, an elderly Asian man and an elderly Asian woman were attacked in San Francisco today. A 39 year old man first targeted the 83 year old man. It was when he was running from a security guard after this attack, that he then assaulted the 75 year old woman. Fortunately, she had a lot of fight in her. Using a stick she carries for protection, she began to beat him after he gave her a black eye. People jumped in to break up the fight and police… Read more »
This week we chinwag about Jess searching for her new apartment in LA. Afterward we chat with Valerie Morehouse, vocal coach for artists such as Sia, Britney Spears, Avril Lavigne, 5SOS, Brendon Urie, our very own Bowie Jane, and more.
Valerie’s journey started about twenty years ago, when she was diagnosed with debilitating nodules on her vocal cords. Having sung all her life, the idea of not being able to sing again was not an option. She devoted herself to finding out what causes nodules and how to get rid of and prevent them. Along the way, she worked with top laryngologists and speech therapists and found a passion for helping others overcome or prevent similar setbacks. She also prepares actors’ voices for stage, television, and film, including Sally Hawkins (The Shape of Water), Tom Ellis (Lucifer), the cast of Nashville (ABC & CMT), and FOX sportscaster Joe Buck. Valerie also has her own podcast, LipRoll, which features conversations with her clients giving us an inside look at the industry.
This week we chinwag about what we were doing as musicians at the young age of 12. Afterward we chat with Anastasia Grace, singer of The Haunt.
The sibling fronted group based out of South Florida merges genres of alternative, indie, rock & roll, garage, and blues. 17 year old Anastasia has been performing live since the age of 9, complimented by her older brother, Maxamillion. Anastasia tells us about her experiences in middle school, which lead to a viral hit song that she wrote entitled “All Went Black”. She also tells us about her experience on the road, opening for Palaye Royale, and much more!

We know you shouldn’t spread rumors…but what if the rumor is actually really great? The internet has blown up over word that Donald Glover will possibly reprise his role as Lando Calrissian for a new Disney+ series. The unofficial announcement was made on the podcast Kessel Run Transmissions. We’re hesitant to get too excited about an announcement made from a source that isn’t directly involved with the Star Wars franchise. But it should be noted that this same team let fans know about The Bad Batch before Lucasfilm made the announcement themselves. Glover was first seen as Calrissian in the… Read more »

2020 is a dark and scary place but, as usual, Sia is here to save the day—this time, with an uplifting story that’ll make even the most hardened punks say “aww”. During a recent interview, the legendary vocalist confirmed she adopted a couple children last year. Now 19, the two teenage boys were aging out of the foster care system until Sia welcomed them into her family. When she’s not making hits you’ll be playing for decades (hello “Cheap Thrills”), Sia’s focused on her family. She’s a mom, an award winning musician, and the kind of badass we should all… Read more »

Real talk—Quentin Tarantino has been Single-White-Female-ing Bruce Lee with his films since at least Kill Bill: Vol. 1.
Well that was one hell of a headline to write. HBO’s Chernobyl is a solid show. Obviously the subject matter is tough because so many people died or were misplaced and the ensuing cover-up by the Soviet Union was terrible, though expected because when you know what hits the fan, nobody wants to take credit for screwing everything up. Hence scapegoats, lies, and persuasion thru intimidation. But the show itself explained the story in what I thought was a fair matter. That is, until now. Because according to the Moscow Times, the Russians aren’t too pleased with HBO or the… Read more »
