“In darkness the bodies started to show”

Ever heard of Reign Eternal? No? Neither had I until recently. These boys, who hail from the UK, have come up with something truly magical. Sonically they’re like a cross between August Burns Red and Bullet For My Valentine, but they are able to combine various metal elements such as breakdowns and harsh vocals to establish their brand. There is no doubt in my mind that the entire new EP Premonitions is guaranteed to get the bodies moving no matter where you are or what you are doing. Anybody that is anybody should be checking out their first single “Fighting Blind” featuring Matt Stuart from The Dreamer Within. The song fades in with an infectious guitar rhythm and just hits you in the face with amazing vocals. One of my favorite songs on the album has to be “Bloodwater”. It gives off a ballad-like style, then changes gears and gets crazy melodic with the drums and guitars adding a heavy fast pace that leaves you begging for more. It is a great song to listen to from start to finish. The harmonies take me back to when I first started listening to metalcore; when the double bass kicks in it reminds me of a younger Bullet For My Valentine or Killswitch Engage. The outro to this song has a devastating breakdown that starts off as a slow beat overlaid with harsh vocals, then it picks up with the double bass pedals that solidified my love for this new act. This album is a great start to hopefully a long career for Reign Eternal.

Stream it, But it, or Skip it: Buy it! Premonitions will not disappoint you. Get ready to start headbanging and playing air guitar.
