In the album Duality, Set It Off told us the gripping tales of their lives. Now, they’ve decided to take their stories one step further in their new EP Duality: Stories Unplugged. From the moment this EP begins, you will understand why the theatrical pop punk band has waited until this record to release an acoustic EP. The original version of “Tomorrow” has the spirit that it takes to give you an emotional anthem, but the acoustic version brings the message to an entirely new level. Carson’s signature vocals are raw, and assure you that you write your own story. Later in the album, the band takes their choral driven single “Why Worry” and transform it into something entirely new. While it lacks the vigorous electric guitar background that the original has, the acoustic version uses more laid back instrumentals that lead you to question “why do we worry at all.” In the end of the EP the band includes a brand new acoustic song that begins “What a wild, wild world we live in.” The song is harmonic and perfectly sums up this era of music for the band with the use of simplistic, motivational lyrics. By cutting out complex distraction in this acoustic EP, Set It Off has put out an authentic account of their stories that you will easily relate and be jamming along to for weeks.

Buy it, Stream it, or Skip it? Stream it. Set It Off always puts a fantastic unexpected spin on things that you’ve got to hear at least once.
