Linkin Park will be headlining the upcoming Livid Festival in Australia. The band will be joining the bill that already includes the White Stripes, Jurassic 5, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, the Roots and Yeah Yeah Yeahs and the Living End. The Livid Festival will make three stops-October 11 in Sydney, October 12 in Melbourne and October 18 in Brisbane. Linkin Park is currently on Metallica’s Summer Sanitarium tour, which stops in Seattle, Washington on Thursday (August 7). Thrash metal bands from the early ’80s and beyond are the subject of a new documentary called Get Thrashed, which should be released before the end of the year. According to Rollingstone.com, Metallica, Godsmack, Disturbed, Anthrax, Slipknot, Kittie, Meshuggah are among the bands profiled by director Rick Ernst for the film which explores the early thrash metal scene and its subsequent impact. The first set, Speed Graphic, will be available starting tomorrow at Folds’ Web site, attackedbyplastic.com. Alternative rock outfit Dashboard Confessional has unveiled plans for a fall tour, beginning Aug. 30 in Pittsburgh and wrapping Oct. 7 in St. Paul, Minn. Thirty-eight years after his dad went electric, Jakob Dylan and his Wallflowers are going acoustic.
