We’re vibin’ with Girl Wilde. From the time she stepped onto the scene, her every move has sparkled. Whether it’s her unapologetic emotion, fierce girl pop, or the fact that she’s just so damn cool, you can consider us a part of the GW fanclub.
The songstress’ latest song, “Nervous Breakdown”, is everything you want from a pop track and everything you probably need to hear with cuffing season on the horizon. “‘Nervous Breakdown’ is a masochistic love letter,” she explains.
“We laughed, we danced, we shared our nostalgia.”
Everyone knows what it’s like to make a wrong turn and even if you don’t want to admit it you’re probably guilty of taking that turn just a few too many times. “Nervous Breakdown” is honest with that emotion showing us that rough times can result in magnificent art. “I wanted to really paint the picture of what it feels like to consciously make a bad decision.”

As if the track could get any better, Girl Wilde took a second to explain the writing process—and it sounds like a blast, TBH. “I showed up to the studio after being on a Weezer binge and made them listen to ‘Beverly Hills’ on repeat,” she explains. “We laughed, we danced, we shared our nostalgia, and then we wrote the song. And thus, bubblegum grunge was born.”
“I am not of afraid of being vulnerable.”
And what is bubblegum grunge, exactly? If you’re asking us, it’s the perfect explanation of Girl Wilde. Equal parts fun, free, raw, and vulnerable, GW is making the songs you want to sing along to. That is, if you’re brave enough to get honest. “I am not of afraid of being vulnerable and I hope this song gives other people the confidence to do the same.”
