Wake up and smile to the tune of today’s Inbox Jukebox Presents. Sam Setton’s new track “Gum” is an R&B-infused shot of steamy sultry love that’ll get you swaying along to its synth-pop beats.

“‘Gum’ is a love song I wrote after being inspired by some of the new relationships I saw my friends were in,” Sutton says. The singer-songwriter weaves intimate stories that feel as real as if you were part of them—you’ll get swept up by the rush of romance in the track’s very pulse. “At the time I wrote it, I was single myself – but listening to them talk about their love got me thinking about my past relationships, and how it used to feel while I was falling in love.”

“‘Gum’ is just the perfect song to play for

someone to tell them you love them for the

first time.”

Setton captures that feeling of a fairytale romance and turns it into a smooth pop tune to dance to with your one & only—or to tell the one who’s been on your mind how you feel. “I wrote ‘Gum’ from the perspective of someone who is starting to experience feelings of love in a relationship early on,” he explains, “Although they want to express that feeling of love, they’re conflicted because they know it might drive the other person away.”

Ready to fall in love? Hit play on “Gum” and daydream about all the little things you adore about your crush. ’Cause now you’ve got a song to tell ’em everything you’ve been dying to say:

Fun Fact about the song title:

“‘Gum’ is about the feeling you have while falling in love for the first time. It’s a feeling that’s so amazing but also fleeting, just like the burst of flavor when you first chew a piece of Gum.”
