Hit play on today’s Inbox Jukebox Presents and turn up the love. Alt Bloom’s new song “Call It Home” tells a sultry tale about that spark of realization when a crush becomes the real thing.

“This song is following the moment you go from liking to loving someone. That moment it hits you the person you’ve been hanging with is actually quite amazing,” singer-songwriter Ethan Thompson AKA Alt Bloom says. “Call It Home” moves slowly, building up the feels with smooth synths before blowing you a sonic kiss with a dance-fueled chorus.

“This song is following the moment you go from liking to loving someone. That moment it hits you the person you’ve been hanging with is actually quite amazing.”

The track captures that rush of emotions when you fall in deep—and it revels in the romance. “It’s a turn that’s hard for a lot of us, as it leads to putting yourself on the line. The instrumental outro is the trip of that feeling,” he says. There’s a vulnerability to “Call It Home” as Alt Bloom says a soft goodbye to what’s been holding him back. His soulful vocals bring an earnest touch to the song.

Thompson crafted the dreamy beat using the Tremolator, a plug-in that recreates the nostalgic style of a Wurlitzer electric piano. The result is captivating—you’ll instantly want to sway to the synths with your one & only. So ask your crush for a dance around the room, singing, “Why don’t you take my heart and call it home…”

Fun Fact About “Call It Home”:

“I’d gotten obsessed with that [Tremolator] plug-in and tried using it on about 15 songs and it never worked, but then it all just clicked for ‘Call It Home’… It really shows how you should never give up on something that excites you.”
