Oasis Postpones More German Dates, Police Say Liam Gallagher Kicked Officer

Oasis has postponed two German concerts, following a brawl in a Munich hotel over the weekend. The English band has postponed its November 4 show in Dusselfdorf and a date in Bremen, Thursday December 5. The postponement of the shows came after the group had already postponed appearances in Munich Sunday and in Hamburg on Monday. The further postponement came about because the band’s singer, Liam Gallagher, required further medical attention after sustaining facial injuries and several broken teeth in the nightclub fight. A official statement on the band’s website (oasis.net) says: “Following the events of last weekend, Oasis have… Read more »

Noel Gallagher Refuses To Watch New Oasis Video

Bombastic, brawling, brilliant… there are many adjectives that have been used to describe Oasis – and many of the most flattering ones have come directly from the group itself. As with anything the marble-mouthed Manchester lads put out, Don’t Believe the Truth, their first album since 2002’s Heathen Chemistry, is sure to earn them many more colorful descriptions. “Lyla,” the first single, will sate any hunger pangs for Oasis’ familiar guitar jangles. But if you ask Noel Gallagher, he’ll tell you the truth about the song: It wasn’t his first – or even second – choice. “We’d just forgotten about… Read more »

British rock band Oasis is to return to the stage in Wales on Sunday to finish a European tour after a brawl in a Munich bar forced two shows to be canceled. Wildman vocalist Liam Gallagher, 30, lost two teeth in the fight on December 1, leaving him unable to sing in two scheduled German shows. But a band spokesman said on Saturday dentists had repaired the damage and the final, British leg of the two-month tour would go ahead. “The Oasis UK tour will therefore be going ahead as planned, starting this Sunday,” he told the band’s Web site… Read more »

Oasis Set Up U.S. Tour Whether Liam Likes It Or Not

Despite Liam Gallagher’s claims to the contrary, Oasis will be touring America this fall – because his big brother and bandleader, Noel, said so. “We’re coming back in August,” the elder Gallagher asserted, contradicting comments his predictably unpredictable brother made to the British press. “Liam’s invited. If he wants to come, he’ll come, if not, we’ll do it without him.” The group’s tour, which kicks off August 2 in Pompano Beach, Florida, is in support of the forthcoming Heathen Chemistry, Oasis’ first studio album in over two years. “Liam’s always – you know what he’s like,” Noel said, smiling. “I… Read more »

Gallagher Brothers Dump Gates From Top Spot in Britain

Bad boys of Britpop Oasis stormed their way to the top of the charts this week, knocking teen sensation Gareth Gates from his throne with their new single “Hindu Times,” The Official UK Charts Company said. Once de-throned, Gates was promptly trounced by two other chart contenders: brooding northerners the Doves with their powerful psychedelic number “There Goes the Fear,” and American boy-band NSYNC. The Gallagher brothers’ first single in nearly two years lays vocals from both Liam and Noel over Noel’s hard-edged guitar hooks. Sales of Gates’ “Unchained Melody” were already seen waning after four weeks in the top… Read more »

Oasis' Noel Gallagher Promises Jam With Black Crowes

The Crowes and Oasis don’t plan on merging into a bluesy Brit-pop supergroup anytime soon, but the two bands will definitely jam onstage together on their joint Tour of Brotherly Love, Gallagher promises. “It’d be rude not to, wouldn’t it,” Gallagher said Wednesday from his manager’s office in London. “I have no doubts in my mind that there’s gonna be various people on stage at various points – as for what we’re gonna do, I don’t know.” The songwriter/guitarist/vocalist said that his top three choices of cover songs to play with the Crowes would be Led Zeppelin’s “Stairway to Heaven,”… Read more »
