Daft Punk is Doin’ It Right


It’s been 10 years since Daft Punk’s last album, Random Access Memories, and they’re celebrating in a big way. The duo announced the release via their social media. This is a pleasant surprise after officially announcing their retirement from the project in 2021, after 28 years of working together.  The 10th anniversary album will include 9 tracks of previously unreleased music. Of course this amps up the anticipation by about 1,000%. The record will be out on May 12th and can be pre-ordered here!

Daft Punk Artist Leiji Matsumoto Passes Away


Leiji Matsumoto has passed away at the age of 85. You probably know this underappreciated artist’s work well, especially if you love Daft Punk. The manga artist was the creator of the animation for “One More Time”, “Digital Love”, and “Aerodynamic”. Daft Punk Splits Up


After 28 years, legendary music duo Daft Punk have called it quits. They announced the news with an 8-minute long video titled “Epilogue”, which is taken from their film Electroma (2006). While the video does not contain any explanation as to why Daft Punk has decided to end things, it includes two robot hands with the years 1993-2021 underneath.  Before their departure, the duo released an extended version of the Tron: Legacy soundtrack. Moby, Daft Punk join iPhone gaming application


You’ve played the iPhone app. Now get the soundtrack. EMI Music has become the first major label to line up multiple artists for an edition of Tapulous’ popular iPhone game application Tap Tap Revenge. Daft Punk In Toon


French techno dance act Daft Punk have been tooned by the Cartoon Network. This week, the cable channel merged the music of Daft Punk with a serialized story created by famed Japanese animator Leiji Matsumoto. The featured videos, “One More Time,” “Aerodynamic,” and “Digital Love,” make up the first three chapters of a story. The fourth video, “Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger,” will exclusively premiere on Cartoon Network during a special music-video edition of Toonami Midnight Run – scheduled to air August 31. Shaggy Reclaims No. 1 Sounscan Spot; Daft Punk Debuts


With his new single “Angel” picking up where “It Wasn’t Me” left off, dancehall reggae artist Shaggy’s quadruple-platinum album Hotshot surprisingly reclaimed the number one position on SoundScan’s album charts.
