Singer-actor Tyrese is in a hospital after a motorcycle accident. His spokesman said Tyrese took a spill on his bike last Friday while riding off-road in a desert area of Riverside County in Southern California.
Tyrese, 23, hurt his back and suffered cuts, and the motorcycle was totaled.
At first, Tyrese was treated at a hospital and released.
But he checked himself into Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles Monday after experiencing lingering back pains.
He’s in stable condition and is expected to remain in the hospital at least until this weekend, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Tyrese (last name: Gibson) got his start appearing in commercials for products like Coke and modeling gear by Tommy Hilfiger and Guess. He has also released several CDs, including last year’s “2000 Watts.”
Tyrese had the lead role last year in “Baby Boy,” the third film in director John Singleton’s ‘hood trilogy that also includes “Boyz N the Hood” and “Poetic Justice.”
