THQ And Britney Spears Announce Interactive Publishing Agreement

THQ Inc. today announced a worldwide, exclusive agreement with Britney Brands Inc. to publish games featuring one of the biggest names in pop entertainment, Britney Spears.

The agreement grants THQ exclusive rights to publish Britney Spears games for Sony PlayStation 2, Nintendo Game Boy Advance and PC through 2005. The first Britney Spears videogame is scheduled to release in spring 2002.

“Britney’s move into interactive entertainment is a natural extension for the Britney brand,” stated Britney Spears Co-Manager Larry Rudolph, Rudolph & Beer LLC. “The growth in the interactive category driven by new gaming technologies means fans can look forward to an ultra-realistic adventure through Britney’s world.”

“Since the 1999 release of her ‘Baby One More Time’ album, Britney Spears has become a pop culture icon whose talent and style are coveted across the globe,” stated Jeff Lapin, vice chairman and COO, THQ. “We are delighted to be working with Britney Brands in bringing one of the biggest names in entertainment to the PlayStation 2, Game Boy Advance and PC.”
