Speak Low If You Speak Love, the solo project of State Champs’ bassist Ryan Scott Graham, has released a new song, “Adjacent.” The single comes from his upcoming debut album, Everything But What You Need, set to come on March 31st through Pure Noise Records. Graham will also be accompanying A Loss For Words for their final shows next month, along with Pentimento and Like Pacific. Grab your pre-orders here, and check out the song below!

On the track, Graham elaborates,

‘Adjacent’ is a very blunt song about trying and failing. A few years back, I drove to Chicago to see a girl. I had just lost my job, so I had no money, no serious responsibilities and figured what better way to expend the little energy and motivation that I did have on pursuing the relationship. In the back of my mind, I think I knew I didn’t stand a chance, but I ignored my gut feeling and went for it. What came out of the experience is ‘Adjacent.’ On one hand, it’s a tale of bravery, encouraging listeners to trust their intuition even when things seem impossible. On the other hand, it’s a true story about losing. Things didn’t go the way I hoped they would, and I didn’t get the girl, but I needed to write this song to come to terms with that.
