Puddle Of Mudd to Play San Diego Show to Benefit Victims of Area Fires

Currently in the midst of their Verizon Wireless/MTV Presents “Life On Display” intimate club tour, Puddle Of Mudd has announced today the addition of a benefit show to aid the victims of the San Diego area fires on November 15th at Soma in San Diego. All proceeds from this show will be donated to the Salvation Army who has set up a fund specifically to help the people of the San Diego area who have been affected by the fires. Says lead singer Wesley Scantlin, “Most of us live in Southern California and we’ve been on tour watching all this devastation on TV from 3,000 miles away trying to figure out what we could do to help.”

Local radio stations in San Diego, Rock 105 and its sister station 91x, have come on board to present the event and to encourage people to come out and support. Tickets will be available for internet presale this Friday, November 7 at 5pm on www.ticketmaster.com, with regular tickets available for purchase Saturday at Ticketmaster outlets.

“We at Verizon Wireless are grieved at the losses created by the fires and stand committed with Puddle Of Mudd in their efforts to help aid fire victims,” said Gregg Yacovone, director of Marketing.

Puddle Of Mudd has been out on the road in support of their upcoming sophomore set Life On Display which will be released on Flawless/Geffen Records November 25th. Life On Display was recorded in Los Angeles, with production duties shared between John Kurzweg, Michael “Elvis” Baskette and the band themselves. The new album’s premiere single “Away From Me” went for adds at Modern Rock, Active Rock and Rock radio on October 14th and is currently in the Top 10 at the Modern Rock, Rock and Active Rock formats.

Life On Display follows the phenomenal 5 million-plus worldwide sales of the band’s 2001 debut “Come Clean.” “Come Clean” spawned no less than four #1 alternative and rock radio hit singles (“Blurry,” “She Hates Me,” “Control” and “Drift And Die”), with “Blurry” becoming the most played track on Modern Rock Radio for 2002 and scooping the ASCAP award for most played song of the year.
