Osbournes Say Their Party Soured By Diamond Thief

Should old acquaintances be forgot and never brought to mind? Not if you’re the Osbournes.

Sharon and Ozzy aren’t about to forgive and forget a woman who allegedly crashed their New Year’s Eve party and walked out with a $15,000 diamond necklace she obtained by winning a raffle illegally. The Osbourne camp issued a statement to the press Friday evening to draw attention to the incident, and to talent agency ICM, where the presumed perpetrator is employed.

The party, which doubled as a ceremony to renew their 20-year-old marriage vows, was held at the Beverly Hills Hotel. The necklace was among the items to be raffled off to Sharon and Ozzy’s family and friends who purchased raffle tickets using a “credit card” they were given earlier in the evening. Partygoers could then increase the value of their cards by winning credits at the casino-themed fete.

According to the first family of heavy metal, the grifter and thief crashed the party with a friend, and because she was uninvited, illegitimately received a credit card, with which she won the necklace. When asked by the Osbournes the following day to return the one-of-a-kind collar, a product of prestigious British designer Asprey, the woman refused.

An ICM spokesperson explained a different version of events. The agency “categorically denies the false and reckless charges made by Sharon Osbourne. The agent in question was the guest of a close friend of the Osbourne family and won raffle tickets for the necklace in a fair manner and without any inappropriate conduct.”

Sharon and Ozzy are “broken-hearted” over the incident, and said that the thief ruined their party and “left a very bad taste in their mouths.”

In a report filed with the Beverly Hills Police Department by the Osbournes just after midnight on Thursday, the necklace was valued at $42,000. The report also cited the ICM employee as a “Person Complained Of (PCO),” though a police spokesperson couldn’t reveal her name, because as of press time, she was not a suspect.

The Osbournes were married July 4, 1982. At the December 31 ceremony, Justin Timberlake was reportedly in attendance, Kelly Osbourne served as flower girl, and music at the reception was provided by the Village People and Buddy Love, a lounge singer specializing in Ozzy covers.
