KOCH Entertainment Wins Award As Billboard Independent Label of the Yea

On August 28, 2003 Billboard Magazine officially awarded KOCH Entertainment with the coveted prize of Independent R&B/Hip Hop Label of the Year.

“It’s been 3 years of hard work,” says KOCH/In The Paint President, Alan Grunblatt. “Bob Frank and Michael Koch have been side-by-side with me on this at every turn. Now that we’ve reached #1… we have to stay #1. If you look at our release schedule, that shouldn’t be a problem.”

In October 2003, KOCH Entertainment will release new albums by platinum selling artists Montell Jordan and The Goodie Mob. “Montell Jordan’s album is entitled Life After DEF says Grunblatt, “which refers to the fact that this is the R&B star’s first album since leaving DEF JAM. The Goodie Mob album will be called One Monkey Don’t Stop The Show. Grunblatt adds, “I’m sure most Hip hop heads know what that’s all about.”

Prior to the aforementioned October releases, KOCH will also unleash Raw and Uncut – a new studio album by former Hot Boy/Cash Money star Turk. It hits stores on September 23rd.

The KOCH Entertainment distributed labels also have a great 4th quarter schedule in motion. Death Row Records is readying the release of a brand new 2 PAC Best Of/Remix collection entitled Nu Mixx Clazzicks while Landspeed is prepping new albums by Dead Prez and Tony Touch.

Grunblatt adds, “With all these great releases, I’m grateful to have Dee Sonaram and Shadow Stokes are on board to promote them. Their promotions are well earned and they have shown the ability to take a record all the way. They are totally instrumental in the success of the label”
