Justin Timberlake, AC/DC Join Rolling Stones In Concert To Boost Toronto's Spirits

Now that he’s flying high with a hit record and one of the only successful tours of the summer, Justin Timberlake is unstoppable and afraid of nothing – not even a little SARS.

The pop star will join the Rolling Stones and a host of other artists and celebrities at an eight-hour concert in Toronto on Monday to revive tourism and spirit in the city following the wane in both that hit after the city was hit by a highly publicized outbreak of the infectious disease SARS.

The event will take place at Downsview Park and will be hosted by the Canadian federal government, the province of Ontario, the city of Toronto and the beer manufacturer Molson. Other artists who will appear include AC/DC, the Flaming Lips, the Isley Brothers, the Guess Who, Sass Jordan, Sam Roberts and Kathleen Edwards. Dan Akroyd and Jim Belushi will host the concert.

Tickets are $16 ($21.50 in Canada) and will go on sale Friday. One dollar from every ticket sold will be donated to the newly created Health Care and Hospitality Workers Relief Fund. Net proceeds will also go to the fund.

In order to schedule their two-hour set, the Rolling Stones were forced to postpone one show in Spain and cancel another.

Avril Lavigne, Sum 41, Sarah McLachlan and others performed a similar benefit show this past Saturday in Toronto.
