Columbia Records performing artist Jessica Simpson is back with Irresistible, the eagerly-awaited follow-up to her double-platinum debut Sweet Kisses.

In honor of the release of her new album, Jessica will appear with labelmates Destiny’s Child on several select dates on MTV’s TRL (“Total Request Live”) tour. Irresistible will be in-stores on June 5.

Leading off with a title track-produced by the Scandinavian hitmakers BAG & Arnthor (98 degree, Jennifer Lopez)-that’s truly “Irresistible,” Jessica’s new album reaffirms her place in the front ranks of contemporary pop music. Working with a group of world-class producers including Rick Wake, Rhett Lawrence, Louis Biancaniello & Sam Watters, Cory Rooney, Walter Afanasieff, Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins, Jessica has created an electrifying collection of songs that reach deep into the heart with a groove-based emphasis on the dance-floor.

Fulfilling the promise of Sweet Kisses, Irresistible is the next step in the evolution of this vital young artist, a pop/rhythm/crossover showcase for Jessica’s ever-growing vocal talent. Reaching beyond the expectations of her fans, Jessica Simpson brings a natural ease and undeniable passion to her new material, proving that the album’s first single, “Irresistible,” is a taste of glorious things to come. Jessica takes a decidedly R&B/Crossover turn on the album’s uptempo jams while the new ballads find a grace, poise, power and maturity in her already impressive vocal range. Among the album’s many highlights are “There You Were,” a show-stopping duet with her Columbia Records labelmate Marc Anthony and “A Little Bit,” the hook-filled follow-up single to “Irresistible.”

Released in November 1999, Jessica’s debut album Sweet Kisses established her as an international pop star. The album featured two Top 40 smashes: “I Wanna Love You Forever” and “I Think I’m In Love With You.” Sweet Kisses has been certified RIAA double-platinum in the United States while selling more than three million copies around the world.

Since the release of Sweet Kisses, Jessica has become one of the most widely-recognized and respected new artists in modern pop music. She has graced the covers of more than a dozen magazines (including Teen Vogue, Seventeen, YM, FHM, TeenStyle, Teen, Jump and many others), become an MTV staple, toured with Ricky Martin, and has established herself as a tremendously influential role model for teens. Jessica Simpson was nominated in the Favorite New Artist category at both the AMA’s and Blockbuster awards and has become a celebrity spokesperson for Redken professional salon products.
