Interpol stranded in snowstorm

Interpol was forced to cancel their two Canadian shows in Montreal and Toronto in the last couple days due to the extreme weather in Buffalo, New York. The band has been stuck in their tour bus for over 40 hours, according to their Facebook post.

“It’s with great regret that we have to announce the cancellation of our show tomorrow night in Montreal. We’ve been stranded in a snowstorm outside of Buffalo for over 40 hours and still don’t know when we’ll be able to move from our current position. We’re disappointed that we won’t be able to visit as scheduled but we’ll make it up to you, Toronto and Montreal. We love you guys. We were really looking forward to the shows.

Please hang on to your tickets as we work to rebook these shows. We hope to announce the dates shortly, standby for further info!

All the best,
Interpol”

Buffalo and the rest of upstate New York has seen upwards of six feet of snow over the past week, with another three feet expected to fall by Friday morning.

The band tweeted out this photo showing that even snow plows were trapped in the drifts:

According to the band’s twitter, the bus finally made some progress earlier this morning after being stuck for nearly two days.

There’s bad weather still on the way, so be careful out there!
