Heavy D To Head Big And Tall Clothing Line For P. Diddy's Sean Jean

In addition to appearing in the Tim Allen and Rene Russo film Big Trouble, Heavy D has accepted an offer from P. Diddy to head the big and tall division of the music and fashion mogul’s Sean Jean clothing line.

Heavy D will oversee designing, marketing strategies, and commercial campaigns. “I’ve always been a guy that liked to dress,” Heavy D told LAUNCH. “Puff has always been impressed with my style of dress as a big person. So he offered me a consultant [position] at first, and that went well. He was like, ‘Yo, do you want to come run the whole thing, doing the big and tall side?'”

Heavy D says that clothing for large men don’t come in enough styles, something he plans to address in his role at Sean Jean. “A big [guy] wants to dress the way a little [guy] wants to dress,” he added.

The rapper also broke new ground in September with the release of Babyface’s album Face 2 Face. Heavy D and his partner Tony Dofat produced “I Keep Callin’,” a song on the album. “I think the man as a producer is a genius,” Heavy D said about Babyface. “And I love his vocal style, and I just wanted to do something more soulful with him and take him back to some old soul type stuff in the vein of Curtis Mayfield and them cats. ‘Face was totally with it. He came in and heard what I was working on, and was like, ‘Yo let’s write it.’ We wrote it together, and it’s hot.”

Heavy D and Dofat also produced the song “Breezy” for Bell Biv DeVoe’s (BBD) fourth album, scheduled to be released December 4.
