Good Riddance To Make Brief Trip To Canada

Santa Cruz’s Good Riddance are stopping to do a few dates in Canada on the current leg of their tour. The stops are limited to Quebec and Ontario with two dates each. Check out the band’s official site for more details on each show.

The band is currently out in support of their latest disc, Bound By Ties Of Blood And Affection, which was released through Fat Wreck Chords in May of this year. The disc features 14 new songs from the politically-minded punk band. The band also has a new home video release called Exposed 1994-1999.

The new disc follows up 2002’s Cover Ups, which contrived the tried and true tradition of punk bands performing cheeky cover songs. Cover Ups sees the band interpreting songs from the likes of Black Flag, The Psychedelic Furs, Kiss, Modern English and The Kinks.

The band has had a lot of line-up changes since their start in 1986. New drummer Dave Wagenschutz is the most recent addition. The band recruited Wagenschutz after previous drummer Sean Sellers got married and quit the band in 1999.

Lately, members of Good Riddance aren’t only focusing on their own music. Vocalist for the band Russ Rankin also has his own record label, Lorelei Records. He just finished producing a disc for one of his artists, Spark Of Life. Members Chuck Platt and David Wagenschutz are taking up other jobs as well. Platt is doing marketing for Bell sports while Wagenschutz works at Jade Tree Records.

The Tour Dates Are As Follows:

  • June 30 Montreal, QC – Rainbow
  • July 1 Montreal, QC – Rainbow
  • July 2 Ottawa, ON – Barrymore’s Music Hall
  • July 2 Toronto, ON – Phoenix Concert Theatre
