Duran Return on "Queer Eye"

Having played some reunion gigs last year to immense hype, the classic Duran Duran lineup (metrosexual when metrosexual wasn’t cool… or even coined) will offer up “Sunrise,” its first new song in almost two decades, on the Queer Eye for the Straight Guy soundtrack, due February 10th.

The album, subtitled What’s That Sound, will actually be the first in a series of recordings tied to the hit Bravo show. In addition to the reunited DD, the set will include “Good Luck,” a new cut by the Basement Jaxx, and “Everybody Wants You to Emerge,” a new mashup that pairs Billy Squier’s “Everybody Wants You” with Fischerspooner’s “Emerge.” Remixes also abound, including new takes on Kylie Minogue’s “Slow” (by the Chemical Brothers), Elton John’s “Are You Ready for Love” and Sting’s “Never Coming Home.” Also included will be Queer Eye’s omnipresent theme song, “All Things (Just Keep Getting Better)” by Widelife with Simone Denny.

Queer Eye for the Straight Guy: What’s that Sound will be released in two formats, the usual soundtrack CD and a deluxe version with a bonus DVD containing the Wayne Isham-directed video for the theme song, a making-the-video clip and the video for Minogue’s “Slow.”
