"Civic Tour" Hits Hot Import Nights

Civic Tour 2003, the hugely successful Honda and Alpine music tour partnership, is extending beyond the traditional concert venues that entertained nearly 400,000 young fans of rockers New Found Glory, Good Charlotte and special guests Less Than Jake and MxPx, at 50 concert stops across the U.S.

American Honda Motor Co., Inc. and Alpine Electronics of America aren’t letting the music stop as they extend the non-stop energy of Civic Tour through featured appearances at select Hot Import Nights (HIN) events across the country this summer. Part auto and electronics showcase, part party, HIN is one of the largest import performance events in the country.

Honda and Alpine will showcase both the extraordinary Alpine-customized Honda Civic Si demo car, featuring what leading car audio magazines have called “the greatest install ever,” as well as a Honda Civic Si custom-designed by New Found Glory, one of the Civic Tour 2003 co-headlining bands, featuring an awesome 1300 watt Alpine sound system. As if these import car-lovers dream vehicles aren’t enough to steal the spotlight, the booth will sport a choreographed light show, band memorabilia from the past three Civic Tours (blink-182, Everclear, Incubus, Good Charlotte and New Found Glory), displays of Alpine products and the Civic Tour photo booth that invites visitors to take their picture with the New Found Glory Civic.

“By extending the life of Civic Tour beyond the traditional concert venues to Hot Import Nights, Honda is able to expand the Civic Tour brand to 16-30 year-old consumers and further position the Civic as a hip, cool car,” said Charles Koch, manager of regional marketing at American Honda Motor Co., Inc.

The HIN circuit, now in its sixth year, has built a reputation as both a premier auto show and a must-see entertainment event, with ancillary areas such as the HIN Nightclub, Interactive Zone, Performance Pavilion and Audio/Visual World. The more than 15,000 attendees at each HIN event are mainly Gen X and Y male auto enthusiasts who come to check out the hottest import cars, cutting edge entertainment and relevant brands.

  • July 19 Stadium Expo Center Seattle, WA
