Steven Tyler of Aerosmith may be blasting into orbit.

The Boston Globe reports that Dan Forman, a spokesman for the band, said Tyler is laying the groundwork for a trip to outer space. Forman said Tyler’s plans are similar to those of Lance Bass of ‘N Sync, who is trying to hitch a ride into space with the Russians this fall.

The 54-year-old Tyler is the father of actress Liv Tyler. The large-mouthed lead singer formed the Grammy-nominated band Aerosmith in 1970.

Forman did not comment on how Tyler would pay the $20 million price tag for the trip.
